ENJOY YOUR LIFE 🍷💀🌸 This embroidery was inspired by the original yolo, a two thousand year old mosaic unearthed in Turkey in 2012 featuring a skeleton reclining casually with bread and wine with the inscription “be cheerful, enjoy your life”. I think I can learn a lot from her, which is why I made this 💀✨

My first detailed embroidered pet portrait of a pug!! Every embroidery is a learning experience - whether it be because of a new breed, a different fur pattern, or just applying new techniques I’ve picked up! No two pets are the same and I love exploring the world of embroidery through each piece 💜 http://ift.tt/2iwitG0

This is just crazy amazing.

Keeping Miao embroidery alive

In a remote village in Guizhou Province, China, generations of artisans have been making handmade suits embroidered with tin. This is the only place in the world where this type of embroidery, called Miao embroidery, is done. After 500 years of tradition, the practice is disappearing. Long Nv San Jiu, a fourth-generation tin embroiderer, says she hopes to teach others this fine craft before it is lost.
